60Da is not an IR camera. It just has extended red sensitivity, along with standard visisble light sensitivity. Used conventionally it would presumably produce an odd color balance, though perhaps not so odd that it couldn't be rebalanced for normal use. Hydrogen Alpha is 656nm, deep red but not IR. I'd assume it has somewhat more near IR sensitivity than the 60D, so IR exposure times with an IR filter may be shorter than with the 60D.8 @: Q, C: w# V' b5 h1 N$ @/ O6 M
The fact that Canon don't mention such an appliction presumably means that there isn't a huge enhancement of IR sensitivity. However since the red edge of the filter has been pushed out past 656nm, it's reasonable to guess that transmission at short IR wavelengths may also be somewhat increased.
