Mr. Yao’s most recent exhibition of his 47photographs embody the theme which can best be described as “a look into dailylife”. In them, there are no preaching doctrines or bold declarations, nor isthere any cynicism or profound consideration. The single unmistakable issentiment here is tranquility! There is no need to further read into any of it,as the obvious is in plain sight.

In this installation of Mr. Yao’s work, hehas discarded the words and descriptors on which we now rely so heavily, andleaves us to discover this exploration of the visual. It is a purely visualexperience, there is no “visual thinking” necessary. The elimination of allsuch noise naturally provides a sense of calm serenity, transcending existence, and attaining an unfamiliar realism: this is a “meaningful form”. It is thebasis of the discovery of our existence. All of us who know Mr. Yao appreciatehis calmness and collectedness. These works truly reveal the raw nature of theartist himself, how priceless!
